Leslie M. Holmes


Soprano Leslie M. Holmes, a graduate of Wellesley College, is well known for her numerous solo appearances as well as for her radio program of eleven years on Classical Radio Boston, WCRB, 99.5 FM.

She has been a soloist with the Boston Symphony, Boston Pops, Opera Company of Boston, Chorus Pro Musica, M.I.T. Choral Society, Wellesley Choral Society, Wellesley College Choir and the Wellesley Symphony at Castle Hill and Hammond Castle.

Ms. Holmes has performed solo recitals at the Gardner Museum, Great Woods, Boston Public Library, The French Library and Cultural Center, Wellesley College, the Longy School of Music, Bard College, the Providence Athenaeum and Northeastern University. She has also performed throughout other areas of the East as well as in Europe and Cuba. She has been heard on National Public Radio. Currently, she is presenting recitals of music by women composers, French composers, classic American popular composers and classical cabaret.

A finalist in the New England Regional Metropolitan Auditions, she was also a finalist in "The Joy of Singing" at Lincoln Center.

She has given many lectures and seminars, specializing  in the origins of classical French and German cabaret. She gave a lecture/recital entitled  "The History of French Cabaret" at the  National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS)  National workshop on the French Song and has given a master class for the Western Massachusetts NATS.

Leslie is a past New England Regional Governor of the NATS and a frequent adjudicator throughout New England. She is also the President of the Wellesley Symphony Orchestra, serves on the Boards of the NATS Foundation and Boston Singers Resource,  and on the Advisory Boards of the Boston Association of Cabaret Artists (BACA) and the Maud Powell Signature. She is also the host of Cabaret Open Mic at Amazing Things Arts Center.

Leslie writes a regular column for the NATS Journal of Singing,  articles for the BACA newsletter and the Maud Powell Signature.  She maintains a private voice studio.
