Greg Rice
Composer-in-Residence

Greg Rice has had Parkinson's disease since 1993.  In 2003 he discovered the gift of music composition. That year his First Symphony had a rousing successful premiere by the WSO.  Since then his works have been recorded and played by other orchestras around the country.  In 2006 he established the Greg Rice Foundation to support Parkinson's research at Massachusetts General Hospital. The WSO is pleased to have Greg as its Composer-in-Residence for the 2007-8 season as we play a piece at each concert written specifically for that month from his Calendar of Dances.
